What Led to a

Journey
in Breathwork

During the COVID pandemic, life hit him hard. He was going through a challenging breakup, feeling deeply disconnected from people, and losing faith in humanity and the direction the world seemed to be heading. Social circles had faded, everything felt stagnant, and the isolation was overwhelming.

Amid this darkness, he began working with a therapist who diagnosed him with generalized anxiety disorder and depression. The therapist recommended Cipralex, but even as he considered the option, he found himself longing for a sense of connection and community. He just didn’t know where to find it.

That’s when he came across an ecstatic dance event. It was a small gathering—just 20 people in a room—but it turned out to be a pivotal moment in his life. At the beginning of the ceremony, participants were guided through Qigong and breathwork. Skeptical yet curious, he entered the session with no expectations, thinking, What could breathing possibly do for me?

What he experienced was nothing short of transformative. The breathwork completely reset his nervous system, leaving him feeling as if he had been restarted from the inside out. It was a profound shift, unlike anything he had ever experienced. By the time the ecstatic dance began, he was so energized and inspired that he couldn’t wait to share his experience with others in the room.

It was there that he met Eddy Tony, the facilitator who introduced him to breathwork and who would later become a significant influence in his journey. Eddy offered weekly breathwork classes on Zoom, and for over a year, he attended them religiously. The practice brought him immense clarity and healing. Despite having the option to take Cipralex, he decided against it, finding instead that breathwork gave him something far more powerful—a sense of control over his mental health and a deep reconnection with himself.

The following summer, he attended Dream Camp with Tomorrow Today, a community of adults dedicated to exploring creativity, connection, and personal growth. At the camp, he noticed another facilitator leading breathwork sessions. With all the research, practice, and study he had undertaken over the past year, he realized he had developed a deeper understanding of the techniques and history of breathwork than what was being offered.

This realization gave him the confidence to approach Eddy and ask if he might be ready to start teaching his own classes. Eddy gave him his blessing, a moment that marked the beginning of a new chapter.

In 2021, he officially became a breathwork facilitator. At first, he hosted sessions every few months, gradually gaining confidence and refining his approach. Over time, his passion for breathwork grew stronger, and it became an integral part of his life.

What started as a tool for his own healing evolved into something he could share with others—a way to help people reconnect with themselves and experience their own transformation through the power of breath.

Why Breathwork

Breathwork is important because it taps into one of the most fundamental yet overlooked aspects of our existence—our breath. Conscious breathing has a profound influence on our mental, emotional, and physical states, acting as a bridge between the mind and body. It helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote a sense of calm and balance. Breathwork also provides a natural way to release stored tension, heal emotional wounds, and cultivate greater self-awareness.

On a deeper level, breathwork encourages connection—connection to yourself, to the present moment, and to the energy around you. It empowers people to take control of their well-being, fostering resilience, clarity, and a deeper understanding of their own potential. Whether you’re seeking physical relaxation, emotional healing, or spiritual growth, the breath serves as a powerful tool for transformation.
